Calvin Chin is the founder Calvin Chin’s Martial Arts Academy, Inc. (CCMAA) in Newton, MA. Chin has been a student of martial arts since 1960. He received his black belt in Uechi-Ryu karate from late founder, Kanei Uechi in 1967. In 1970, he became a private student of Fu Hok Tai He Morn under late founder, Kwong Tit Fu. He was chief instructor, top disciple and appointed successor of the system.
Among his many accomplishments, Chin has been appointed as Ambassador and Regional Officer for the Eastern Part of the United States for the World Hung Kuen Association (WHKA), awarded as Outstanding Master by the United States of America Wushu-Kungfu Federation and inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2002, and inducted into the United States Kuo Shu Federation’s Hall of Fame in 2009. In the first and second WHKA Tournemants, CCMAA Team USA brought home the most medals of any school under his reign as coach.
